What Is "The Way"?
Over 2000 years ago, 12 people (and hundreds of other witnesses) saw a man who claimed to be God, live on Earth, get brutally killed, buried to rest, and rise again three days later.

From there, this man, Jesus, commissioned his twelve friends to continue to share the legacy of what He’d done and would continue to do. All 12 would go on to passionately, and unashamedly share their experiences with Jesus, each in time losing their lives to share the truth they had experienced (and it’s pretty hard to believe anyone would die for anything they didn’t 100% believe happened, if you ask us.) Whenever people would see this peculiar group of men and women continuing to spread the news of this Jesus, they were called followers of the Way.

Nearly 2000 years later, Way Church Toronto exists as an extension of this mission. Come what may, we are committed to sharing the Way of Jesus that brings life, and life to the full.

We are for the city of Toronto to see the Kingdom of God come to all people who seek it, by following The Way.
Our Vision
At Way Church Toronto, our hope is to see the Spadina-Fort York community transformed by the love of Jesus. That looks like being committed to sharing God’s love in this community, creating disciples of all people, and seeing them make disciples.

We see a community of people gathering to worship God together, being built up and empowered to live out the mission of Jesus, being the Church in the community as we tangibly love our neighbours and show them the love of Jesus, inviting them into life-giving relationship with Him.
The Story Of The Bible
In the beginning, God, who created all things, created man and woman to partner with Him in His creation of the world. Humanity, in their free will, chose to separate themselves from God, desiring to be their own gods, serving themselves. Since then, sin entered the world, causing separation between a perfect, sinless God and a broken, sinful humanity. But even with humanity’s mistake, God has been on a rescue mission. Over the course of hundreds of years God slowly established his love, truth, and hope in people, promising one day He would reconcile all things back to Him, and restore the world to its intended state.

​God in the flesh, walking and living amongst humans. Living a perfect life, establishing a new Kingdom— the Kingdom of God. A Kingdom where those who lead, do so by serving. Those who love, do so by loving their enemies, and those who wish to gain much, find much by giving everything away. This is the Way of Jesus.
Hated for his selfless, equalizing, redemptive teachings, Jesus faced death— not out of defeat, but out love for all people. When Jesus died, the reign of sin and death died too. He lived a perfect life, dying in the place of all humanity, for you and me.

And It Was Finished
​Three days later, He rose again. Victorious over death, hell, and the grave, King Jesus had come, to transform the world through an act of unconditional, selfless, love — a love so great not even death itself could conquer it.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Meet Our Team
Gavin and Ashley are passionate about seeing people encounter Jesus in everyday life. After ministering for many years in the downtown core they felt called to plant Way Church Toronto to serve Spadina Fort York with the love and hope of Christ.
